Olympic Torch to pass through Redcar & Marske on the 18th of June
By Eye Magazine published 7 February, 2012 No CommentsThe Olympic torch will begin its 70-day journey on the 19th May 2012 in build-up to the highly anticipated 2012 Olympic Games.
The torch will travel all around England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales before finally completing its journey in the Olympic stadium on the 27th July (the day of the opening ceremony of the games).
Day 31 of the Olympic torch journey will see the torch pass through Redcar & Marske as it completes its 24 hour journey from Middlesbrough to Hull.
On the 18th June 2012 nominated carriers of the torch will be running through a specific route carefully planned for day 31 of the journey, surrounded by large crowds and a whole host of events in celebration of the games.
The exact route of the torch is yet to be confirmed, and it is unclear yet whether the torch will pass through Redcar town and visit the esplanade, or simply pass by the top end over the bridge into Marske.
Television crews will be filming the entire journey of the torch which has been set-up to capture the attributes and beauty of each town it passes, building excitement to the up-and-coming sporting events.
The time that the torch will pass through on the 18th of June is yet to be confirmed however as soon as we know more details we will post them here on The Eye Magazine Website.
