Half term litter picks in Redcar

By published 11 February, 2012 No Comments

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are hosting a series of half term litter pick events across Redcar for all keen environmentalists.

The litter pick is taking place over 5 days between 2pm – 3pm each day across different areas of the town. This popular event has proven to be a great way of engaging and teaching people about the environment. It teaches those involved how to be clean and green and be more aware of litter and the consequences. This event is aimed at all ages so come along and make new friends, meet your neighbours or just to make a difference.

These events are a joint venture between Redcar & Cleveland staff Neighbourhood Officers, Coast and Country Housing Association and Cleveland Police. The time table for the events is:-

  • Monday 13th February – In Dormanstown, meeting at Wilton Avenue and Armitage Road corner.
  • Tuesday 14th February – Meeting at the garage area of Micklow Close.
  • Wednesday 15th February – Meeting at the garage area between Langthwaite Walk and Edenhall Grove.
  • Thursday 16th February – Meeting at Greengates School, Kielder Close.
  • Friday 17th February – Meeting at Devon Close.

Coast and Country Housing are kindly providing refreshments so come along and join in. As well as making a huge difference to the area a presentation session is planned with a certificate and tickets for Redcar Regent Cinema as a reward for all those involved.
