By published 15 February, 2012 No Comments

GREEN waste collections in Redcar & Cleveland are set to resume on March 1, 2012.

The green waste is for all grass cuttings, tree and shrub pruning, dried or dead flowers, leaves and hedge clippings and collections will continue until December 1, 2012.

Once green waste is collected it is taken to a recycling facility, any large items are removed, it is then put through a shredder and heated up with water. After 12 weeks soil conditioner is produced and ready to be given away to residents throughout the Summer to spread on gardens and flower beds.

For more information and to check out when your garden waste collection day is, please download the Waste and Recycling calendar, by visiting www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/environment or contact the Council on 01642 774 774.
