Redcar & Cleveland Town Hall for Sale

By published 16 February, 2012 No Comments

Redcar & Cleveland town hall (situated in Eston, on Fabian Road) was built in 1961 and has been the councils main base for administrative work for the last 51 years however the site is soon to be demolished and sold as land due to the building needing a considerable amount of repair work.

The repair work is estimated to cost £2.4 million pounds therefore resulting in the council planning to demolish the building and sell the site instead.

When demolished the 3.4 acre plot of land will be up for sale.

Many of the employees who worked in the Town Hall have already been transferred to other council offices and this entire process is all part of the council’s drive to generate more money by getting rid of sites and buildings that are no longer neccessary.

Redcar & Cleveland council state that although they are leaving the Eston site (which has served them well for many years) they will continue to retain a strong presence in the Eston area.
