Police have issued a second warning to householders in Marske, after a mystery doorbell thief struck again.

In the last few weeks of January four doorsteps were targeted for their bells, then the thief struck again on Thursday 2nd, Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th and Saturday 11th February. They are of little value and there is no apparent reason for their theft.

A man has been captured on CCTV and is described as around 5’10” tall, with short cropped hair which is balding on top.  He is of medium build and was wearing a fleece type jacket and jeans.  He was also wearing a head torch and is believed to be somewhere between 40 and 60 years old.  He was accompanied by a small terrier type dog.

Anyone with any information on this unusual theft is asked to contact PC Jon Hutchinson at Redcar Police Office on 01642 302626 or call the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
