Council considers Regeneration Masterplan, Phase 2

By published 24 January, 2014 No Comments

Proposals for Phase 2 of the Regeneration Masterplan focusing on East Cleveland Towns and Villages will be considered by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s Cabinet, when they meet on Tuesday 28 January.

The report will outline future investment priorities for driving economic growth in East Cleveland up to 2018 as part of Phase 2 of the Councils Regeneration Strategy

Councillor Mark Hannon, cabinet member for Economic Development said:

“Phase 1 of the Masterplan focused on major transformational projects including the Eco Village in South Bank, Redcar Leisure & Community Heart and the regeneration of Redcar Seafront flood alleviation scheme, Creative Industries Hub and Beacon visitor attraction.

This next phase will shift the focus to address challenges facing East Cleveland.

Proposals for the Greater Eston area and South Tees, as well as building on the achievements made in the first phase, are also being developed and will come forward soon.”
